Now more than ever, organisations are looking to ensure all areas of infection control are covered within their business. Investment in cleaning services is the obvious initial assumption, however advances in technology have opened more efficient and effective methods of infection control than ever before.
In this situation, Amy has approached the entrance and in order to gain access, must go via the Access Control unit. Using AI technology, and a variety of other factors, the unit scans the individual’s face and matches them against a pre-configured database of ‘Trusted’ individuals, ie. Staff or Visitors. Further to this, it scans the face via Infrared technology and gauges the temperature of the individual, granting access on the basis their temperature is under the pre-configured value (in this case, 37°). Amy’s temperature in this case was 36.5°, below the pre-set threshold, thus she was granted access to the building.
In this situation, Amy’s temperature is at 38.5°, above the pre-configured accepted temperature, thus access would not be granted in this case, and a notification would appear on the manager’s device (Computer, Laptop, Phone, or Tablet), letting them know someone is at the door, but the temperature check has failed.
In this situation, the system has ensured the individual attempting to enter the site was ‘Trusted’, and did not have a temperature/fever, thus ensuring all members on-site are kept safe from any contagions they may be carrying.
Compared to other forms of access control units, our Access Control units are touch-free. Especially just now, with the pandemic that has recently spread across the world, many diseases have the potential to spread when individuals touch contaminated objects and surfaces. Thus, reducing physical contact with terminals, keypads or devices for access control, or removing the need to ‘touch’ altogether, helps to improve employee hygiene when passing through. With a Facial-Recognition accuracy of over 99%, it offers a quick and efficient method for ensuring ‘Trusted’ entry, Staff Attendance Recording, and Temperature Screening, minimising the risk of infected persons entering your building(s).
